It's #NationalLibraryWeek, and we have a library we can be very proud of! The Bangor Public Library was founded in 1921 by the Bangor Women’s Club. After many years of fundraising, the library was finally opened to serve #BangorPA and the surrounding #SlateBelt community.
The mission of the Bangor Public Library is to provide free, high-quality information, resources, and services for all citizens residing in the Bangor Area School District and beyond. As part of that mission, the Bangor Public Library seeks to promote life-long literacy, learning, and personal enrichment by offering materials and services in a variety of formats.
They provide several services such as faxing, copies, free internet use, free wifi, access to online resources such as eBook, encyclopedias, newspapers, magazines, and educational resources for the kids. We provide books, audio books, magazines, and DVDs.

All of Northampton County is included in the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA) Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) Quarantine. As we enter the season when the young nymphs are black with white spots are emerging, please be vigilant. 👀
SLF at any life stage can hitchhike on any object. Adult SLF can hold onto vehicles moving at 65 mph, and egg masses that look like a splash of mud can be hidden on any flat surface, easily blending in and moving with you anywhere in the Commonwealth and beyond. To ensure SLF are not being transported, check all vehicles, trailers, campers, and other equipment thoroughly, including around front and rear windshield wipers, grills, roof racks, wheel wells, and truck beds.
Any items intended to be moved, whether within or outside the quarantine, must also be inspected. Any and all items should be inspected, including but not limited to plant material, woody debris, firewood, lawn furniture, construction supplies, tools, and other equipment. To further minimize the possibility of movement, citizens are encouraged to avoid parking vehicles or storing items under trees or near tree lines. SLF often lay egg masses on objects near the trees they are feeding on.
For more information on how to identify and eliminate them, click here: extension.psu.edu/how-you-can-comply-with-the-spotted-lanternfly-quarantine-regulations #bangorpa #SlateBelt
